(261) 24.11 So of course there was no boat! The next day I was too late and I had to pay 100 US dollars for the day I stayed too long in Turkey. (I would pay 100 US for every day I would be too long in Turkey). In any case we arrived in Girne, Cyprus.

(262) Welcome to Cyprus! (Or the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus?) It,s good to be back on the correct side of the road!

(263) 25.11 Nicosia (Lefkosa), this is the North (ie Turkish) side of the Green Line, which is a kind of Berlin Wall which seperates the Turkish-Cypriots from the Greek-Cypriots (if you look closely in the background you can see the Greek & Greek-Cypriot flags flying at their look-out post).

(264) A church... turned in to a mosque.

(265) Here you have a better view of the Green Line, it,s not nearly as sophisticated as the Berlin Wall, however we wouldn,t advise that you try to cross!

(266) 26.11 On our way from Nicosia (Lefkosa) to Pili (Pile) in the village of Turkmenkoy. A (on first sight) desolated church next to a well kept mosque.

(267)

(268) After a walk around, we discovered that the door was open (well openable!), we tried to read what it said, but it,s all Greek to us!

(269) Inside we found that it was being used as a village hall, the local folk-dancing group being the main beneficiaries as far as we could tell.
