(131) 7.10 In the back you see the mountain Ciucas (1954m).
(132) (8.10) and this is also Romania. People leaving there litter everywhere (o.k. so the dam was not the last sign of civilization). The mountains are used by Romanians during the weekend to have a bit of nature, make a fire, roast something and leave again. This is what,s left behind.
(133) 8.10 Going up
(134) 8.10 Going up more. Baz is on the other road. We are climbing the ,Bratocea, (1263m). That,s as high as we climbed untill now.
(135) ...and when we were completely up we saw this road-sign. We felt a bit home again.
(136) 9.10 The day before the journey after the ,hill, was a quick one. We saw many beautiful vilages we could have bored you with by taking one picture after the other. And then came Ploiesti, a city we only saw from a distance but had the impression we didn,t want to see it. Had quite a problem to find a sleeping place. The day after was boredom... flat flat roads. I had to take this picture because it felt so much like I was in Holland again !
(137) last time we crossed the Dunaj (the Danube).
(138) 10.10 still moving happely over a flat boring road...
(139) 11.10 and then we arrived here. In the evening (10.10) when we went to the field I heard a hissing noise, and I new my back tyre would be flat. The next mornig the front tyre was also flat...
Six punctures !!! The cause is a plant which is on a picture later...
I repaired the punctures, Baz got us something to eat in the meantime and we went on...
(140) 9km later I got another puncture. Repaired it. And then we got to this place: Stupina. Three more punctures. I stopped put my bike down, got my bags of my bike, got my back wheel of. All the time I head four people starring at me what I was doing. Got water out of the well (in the back) and was about to start when this boy came and said he would help. He started to do everything. I just watched and sometimes helped him with a little thing. He was probably the son of the owner of the filling station we were at. He got the puncture-kit from his own house. We repaired one puncture in the back tyre and two in the front. We gave the kid a bar of chocolate (which he didn,t want to take first). He went away and got back with his own little bike. Then he pointed to Baz,s front tyre. I said: ,Baz did you let the air out of your front tyre?, (because I saw hime doing something with the tyres before. Baz turned and saw his front tyre was flat. Another three punctures !!! The kid went for his repair kit and fixed also Baz,s wheel.
