Dalibor Lanik Home Page - Concerts: Zdravko Colic

Info on Zdravko Colic concert in Prague...

Now, would You beleive - I went to Zdravko Colic concert! The thing is that my girlfriend Natasha is absolutely mad about Zdravko so I had to go with her. Not that I dont like Zdravko Colic, but I just consider him "light music". Anyway: the concert was held in Prague's famous "Radost FX" discotheque (more on it on my Prague page). The concert was supposed to start at 21:00, but it started around 22:30 (hey, do You know any Yugoslav concert that started on time?!). Luckily, there was a lot to see during that hour and a half wait - "Loknice", Zdravko's dancers (anyone remembers "Lokice"?) were spread on the table filled with exotic fruit, laying on it, without much clothes on. When Zdravko finaly appeared, he singed on play-back (at least music was, and sometimes even voice) but the concert was pretty much OK. He sang most of his older hits, and at least 3 songs from the new album (which I didn't like on the CD, but live they sound better).
He sang for around 45 minutes, then made a break, and returned after midnight for another 45 minutes. My girlfrend was jumping and dancing in the first row, next to the stage, while I was sitting in the back with other man (100% of those jumping and trying to get a hold of Zdravko were girls, logical?), drinking my "Red Devil" (coke+red wine). After the concert they played Yugo music, but somehow they "insited" on Zagreb scene and the worst music from Belgrade so I went home early at around 2 AM. All in all, not a bad evening but I think he could have played a bit longer. Now, for those who know me: don;t think I went bananas because I went to Zdravko Colic concert. You may live in Serbia but it is something else to live abroad - any musician from Serbia/Yugoslavia is welcome. Ok, one thing I liked (and which I think pissed all of the bosnians present): Zdravko mentioned at the beginning of a concert that it was sponsored by the "Ambassy of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia". Nuff Said?
