Here are some facts about my country...

SERB FLAG

SERBIAN FLAG

This is a Serbian flag - actualy, a Serbian Orthodox Church Flag (since it's got a cross (symbol of Serbian christianity) with four C letters (ocila), which represent stones used to build a fireplace, a symbol of home. This four C's (S's in Serbian Cyrillic) stand for a slogan "Samo Sloga Srbina Spasava" - translates as "Only Unity Protects Serbs").

SERB AMBLEM

SERBIAN NATIONAL AMBLEM

National Amblem with two-headed Eagle has been used in Serbia since late 19th century. This amblem presented here is of a newer date since it has a shield devided in four parts displaying, Serbian cross with four C letters, in the upper left part, and Montenegran Lion, in the upper right part. Original amblem had only Serbian Cross across the whole shield.

SERBIAN KING

HIS MAJESTY, CROWN PRINCE OF SERBIA ALEXANDER KARADJORDJEVICH

H.M. is lawfull heir to the Serbian throne and will hopefully return to his home country (from England) to unite all Serbs once again. His Royal Highness lives in Great Britain.

CHETNIKS LOGO

SERBIAN CHETNIKS LOGO

Serbian Chetniks were Serbian (actualy Yugoslav) Army during the times of Kingdom Yugoslavia (until 1946) and were battling against the nazis and communists in WW2. Their leader, Gen. Dragoljub "Draza" Mihajlovich was exexuted by communists after the end of WW2, and was awarded a medal by the U.S.A. for saving american pilots during WW2.

SERBIAN CYRILLIC

SERBIAN CYRILLIC LETTERS

Serbian Cyrillic, although to a non-slav may seem same to Russian or Bulgarian Cyrillic, is really quite unique. Serbs think their cyrillic is the most perfect alphabet in the world, because of it's unique "one letter represents one voice" phylosophy. In Serbian cyrillic, each voice that can be pronnounced in a word is indicated by only and exactly one letter. Ther can be no inperfections as "The" pronnounced as "D" in English, for instance, of "Ch" indicating "H" as in Czech, or "NJ", "LJ" or "DJ" to indicate one voice, as in Croatian.

SERBIAN LANDS

SERBIA IN EUROPE AND SERBIAN LANDS

So You've heard about war on the Balkans and You've heard that Serbs are the "bad guys". Just where this Serbia is, and what do they want in Bosnia and Croatia? Are they agressors or... ? This map (as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words) might give You answer where and why Serbs were fighting, and where are Serbian Lands...
