Info on the Robert Plant & Jimmy Page concert in Prague...

Page and Plant in concert

The concert was held on the 25th of February in "Sportovni Hala" at "Vystaviste" (Prague Fair) at 20:00 hrs. Medium-sized hall, at which normaly concerts of up to 7-8000 attendants are held was now full - I beleive that there were more than 12.000 people (That's about the only complaint - they should have found bigger hall or had 2 concerts, this way it was crowded)! Well, the moment P&P appeared, I knew that it was going to be a good concert. People were shouting and jumping and screaming from the very start. They started with one of the newer songs (I suppose from the new album, becouse I didn't know it), but afterwards! Just to mention a few: "No Quarter", "Going to California", "Ramble On"... Most of the songs they played were good old ones, with only 3 or 4 newer. They played for hour and a half, anf then had to return twice. First they played "Thank You", second time "Rocn 'n' Roll". It was a really great concert!

I heard people talking after the concert: "...twas great but a pity we couldn't made them play all 10 Zep albums!". Well, maybee next time. Only slight dissapointment was that they didn't play "Kashmir", but at least they played pretty good new song with eastern (arabic) tune. Page played both "Les paul" and 'double' "Fender" Guitars, and was really cool. At the begining, he didn't play that good, but when he saw that the audience was in a phantastic mood, it seemed he gave his best afterwards. His guitar sounded a bit "hard" though - a little change in style perhaps, or it sounds different in concert, I don't know. From Plant's singing You could see that he's not in his first youth, but at the moments he sounded just like off the record (should I say "off the CD" now it the 90's?). I especially liked "No Quater" and "Going to California". I just hope they will be coming back to Prague soon!!!
